COA Weekly Diaper Giveaway Featured in Local News

Updated: Oct 21, 2020

The weekly free diaper giveaway by Christian Outreach in Action (COA) was featured prominently by two local newspapers, the Grunion Gazette and Long Beach Press-Telegram, at the end of April.

The articles outlined how demand for free diapers has surged during the pandemic and related response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) emergency.

“Last week, it was 105; the week before, 110,” Dixie Dohrmann, COA’s Executive Director, said in the articles. “I think it’s when you get down to when it’s diapers or food. And sometimes they need both.”

The diaper giveaway continues each Friday, 10 a.m. to noon at COA, 515 E. Third St. in Long Beach. Parents must bring the child or children to be served, or at least paperwork representing the children.

For more information, or to donate diapers or money to buy diapers for those in need: info@coalongbeach.org or call (562) 432-1440.
